3 Reasons why I’m happy for the school year starting

image

This summer has flown by.  Although it felt cold & short we still had a great summer.   I LOVED our time just being at home & letting the kids make their own plans for the day.  Airsoft wars & racing around on the dirtbikes/gators/ranger & hanging out with their cousins were the favorites.   As bummed as I am to send these kiddos off to school & for summer to be ending, there are 3 reasons why I’m happy:

I LOVE the schedule.  As much as I am ready for NO SCHEDULE at the beginning of summer I’m SOO much more ready for a schedule at the beginning of the school year.  I think the kids are too.  The late nights & early mornings (my kids don’t sleep in EVER) have caught up with them & this last week they have been dragging.  They would never admit that they feel better on a schedule.  But I see a huge difference in them when they get good sleep.

Along with the schedule come the sports.  Something so fun about cheering your kiddos on at their game.  I LOVE it. This year is Cole’s first year playing football.  He is really excited.  I’m a little scared for him though. I can’t wait to be his biggest fan as moms’ always are.  Maggie is going to be his little cheerleader…so cute.  Jack, Charlie & Camden are playing soccer.  I love love love going to games together as a family & supporting each one of these kiddos.  I think it is so important for them to know that we all support them as a family.  George decided not to play soccer this year.  Maybe next year. :)

I had to add one of Mags. She's walking now.

3rd reason I’m happy to send the kiddos back: I get to clean clean clean my house without the guilt.  I really don’t like to take the special summer time away from them to clean my house.  Yes they have lots of chores & we clean it together when they are home but this house needs a deep cleaning…closets, cupboards, windows, drawers & FLOORS!  I just can’t do that when they are home without feeling guilty.

Although I’m one of those mom’s who dread the school year starting…I try to remember these three things that I LOVE about sending them back to school.  It makes it easier.
