Lazy Days of Summer Day 3

Confession…I’m not sure how long I can keep this posting EVERYDAY up!  It sounded like a fun idea at first but I’m only 3 days in and feeling like…well it’s a lot.  So I will most likely NOT post on the weekend & GROUP days together.  : )

Today was a little slower paced.  Went for our walk/ride this morning.  As you can see from George’s face he’s a little annoyed with the pictures.  haha.  Made me laugh.  He’s such an old grandpa sometimes.  They all did EXCELLENT today.  I don’t think we had one complaint about having to walk/ride.   No pushing Maggie this morning.  Grandma offered to keep her while we went around the section.

It was kind of chilly out & muddy & cloudy.  Once we finished our walk/ride we spent time inside just relaxing, reading & watching a little t.v. .  The older two boys wanted to go to work with dad again.  So they were off.  They have a lot of fun because it’s not just dad they work with sometimes they work with their cousins.  I love that they are all such great friends.

One thing I try to teach my kids is to always try to help people especially the elderly…we have this amazing elderly widow (she turns 90 in August) at our church who is always so encouraging.  The last few summers we usually go over to her house once or twice to help her with some of the harder outside work.  I’m so proud of how hard my boys worked today for her.  These few pictures were just the beginning of their hard work.  Once we were in the nitty gritty, I didn’t have a chance to get any pictures.  They were scraping paint, mulching, hoeing, sweeping, moving large items, weeding, cleaning out her garage.  What troopers.  Such hard workers & good boys.

I didn’t get a picture of George.  He was holding Maggie & taking his turn to watch her for a little while. Hoping it’s a little warmer tomorrow.  I’d love to take them swimming.  We will see.
